There are a lot of misconceptions regarding meditation the moment we say the word. First of all, the term "meditation" in English has no real meaning other than to refer to sitting still and closing your eyes. When you close your eyes, you can accomplish a lot of things. Numerous dimensions exist. You have access to Shoonya, Samadhi, Dharana, Tapa, Japan, and Dhyana. Alternatively, you may have just perfected the skill of sleeping upright!

What, then, is this practice that we refer to as meditation? Most of the time, we presume that when people talk about dhyan or dhyana,. When dhyan is used to refer to meditation, it means that it is not something you can perform. Nobody is able to meditate. The majority of those who have attempted meditation have concluded that it is either extremely difficult or impossible since they are making an effort to practice it.

Although you are unable to meditate, you can learn to do so. It takes a special kind of meditation. It's not a specific deed. Meditation will come easily to you if you develop your body, mind, energy, and emotions to a particular degree of maturity. It's similar to how plants will grow and blossom into fruits and flowers if you keep the soil rich, provide it with the appropriate amount of water and manure, and plant the right kind of seed.

A plant will produce flowers and fruits just because you have provided the right environment, not because you desire it. Similarly, meditation will organically blossom within you if you establish the right environment for it in all four dimensions of who you are. It's a certain scent that one can appreciate in oneself.

Meditation and the Mind

The mind is not fond of meditation since it will naturally become still if the body remains motionless. That's why Hatha yoga and its asanas have received so much attention in the yoga community. All you have to do is learn how to remain motionless physically, and your mind will follow suit. I want you to simply watch how many unneeded motions your body makes when you sit, stand, or talk. You will find that these things, which you find personally uninteresting, occupy more than half of your existence.

The mind will gradually begin to crumble if the body remains motionless, and it is aware that allowing this will lead to its enslavement. The primary idea behind meditation is that, at this moment, your mind is in charge, and you are its slave. Your mind should always be your slave, but as you practice and grow more contemplative, you will take control of your mind. It will subject you to a never-ending torment if you do not know how to maintain the mind as a slave. The mind is a dreadful master if you let it govern. However, the mind is an amazing and astonishing slave.
